Rust Removal
Chemsol Rust Inhibitor
Chemsol Rust Inhibitor is a ready-to-use, two-component, high-build and high-solids rust inhibitor. It forms a tough and thick protective coat over metal surfaces, preventing rusting and withstanding wear and tear even under harsh conditions.
Applications
- Reinforcement steel in new or old structures.
- Other structural members such as TMT bars, boilers, water tanks, bridges, pipes, etc.
Features
- Easy to apply with brush or roller.
- Better bonding to the substrate.
- Grey in color — easy to identify applied and non-applied areas.
Method of Application
1. Surface Preparation
- Surface should be clean and dry.
- All dirt, grease, and loose particles must be removed from the surface.
- Existing rust should be removed by proper sanding, blasting, or solvent cleaning.
2. Coating
- Mix the two components — Base and Hardener — thoroughly. Partial mixing is not recommended.
- Apply a uniform coat on the surface using a brush, roller, or airless spray.
- Allow the coating to air cure.
- Additional coats can be applied if required.
Precautions and Limitations
- Do not dilute Chemsol Rust Inhibitor with water for coating application.
- Keep material tightly closed when not in use.
- Do not apply when temperature exceeds 50°C or when relative humidity is above 90%.
- Do not apply during rain, fog, or mist.
- Ensure adequate ventilation when applying in enclosed or poorly ventilated areas.
