Chemblock 2K
Chemsol Chemblock 2K is a two-component, acrylic-based flexible waterproofing system supplied in a ready-to-mix polymer and powder kit. When cured, it forms a seamless, elastic waterproofing membrane that provides excellent protection for concrete and masonry surfaces. Its superior bonding and flexibility make it ideal for areas exposed to constant moisture and structural movements.

Chemblock 2K is recommended for waterproofing of:
- Retaining walls, parking decks, and lift pits
- Water tanks and swimming pools
- Bathrooms, terraces, balconies, planters, and sloping roofs

Method of Application
1. Surface Preparation
Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and sound. Remove dirt, grease, and loose particles. Wash thoroughly with clean water and remove any previous coatings.
2. New Surfaces
Allow newly constructed surfaces to cure completely before application.
3. Cracks and Joint Treatment
Open cracks up to 5 mm with a 3 mm angle grinder, clean properly, and fill with Chemsol Chem Crack Fill. For cracks larger than 5 mm, use polymer-modified mortar with Chemsol Chemfast SBR (cement:sand ratio of 1:3 and polymer content of 10% by weight of cement).
4. Pre-Application Testing
Conduct a ponding test to detect porosity. Grout porous surfaces, retest, and proceed once the substrate is non-porous.
5. Application
Ensure the surface is in SSD condition. Mix the polymer and powder components thoroughly using a low RPM mixer (add powder to polymer). Detail drain outlets with fiberglass mesh reinforcement. Apply the first coat (0.75 kg/sqm) and allow to dry for 6 hours. Apply the second coat at 90° to the first coat and let dry. For additional durability, apply fiberglass mesh between coats.
6. Ponding
Allow the coating to cure for 4–5 days before performing a ponding test with a maximum water height of 5 cm.
Precautions and Limitations
- Do not dilute with water.
- Keep material sealed when not in use.
- Apply two extra coats at corners and joints.
- Surface must be in SSD condition during application.
- Not suitable for traffic areas.
- Requires protective screed or coba for exposed areas.
- Do not cure by flooding with water.

Theoretical Coverage
- Waterproofing Coat: 0.4 kg/m²/coat with 0.6 kg/m²/coat of cement for 300 microns thickness.
- Bond Coat: 45–50 sq.ft/kg/coat.
- Repair Mortar: 6–7.5 kg of Chemfast SBR ECO per 50 kg of cement.
Storage
Store Chemsol Chemblock 2K in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Shelf Life
24 months from the date of manufacturing if unopened and stored properly.

Method of Application

Allow newly constructed surfaces to cure completely before applying Chemblock Flexi.
3. Cracks and Joint Treatment
Open cracks (0–5 mm) using a 3 mm angle grinder and fill with Chem Crack Fill. For cracks larger than 5 mm, use polymer-modified mortar with Chemsol Chemfast SBR (cement:sand ratio 1:3 and polymer content 10% by weight of cement). Allow proper curing before coating.

Ensure the substrate is in a SSD (Saturated Surface Dry) condition. Mix the two components thoroughly using a low RPM mechanical mixer—add powder to the polymer, not vice versa. Reinforce drain outlets with fiberglass mesh. Apply the first coat (1 kg/sqm) uniformly and allow to dry for 6 hours. Apply the second coat at 90° to the first coat (1 kg/sqm) and allow to air dry. Optionally, apply fiberglass mesh between coats for additional reinforcement.
6. Ponding
Allow 4–5 days of air curing before performing a ponding test with water up to 5 cm height.
